My Therapeutic Approach

Core Therapeutic Philosophy

Therapy with me is collaborative, trauma-informed, and person-centered. I integrate evidence-based and existential approaches to support healing, alignment, and meaningful change.

Person-Centered Approach

At the heart of my therapeutic work is a Person-Centered approach, meaning the work we do together is centered around you, your lived experiences, your pace, and your unique needs. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful catalyst for healing, and I am intentional about cultivating a space that is warm, safe, and rooted in empathy and unconditional positive regard.

My goal is to create an environment where you feel fully seen, heard, understood and accepted without judgment. Through genuine connection, reflective presence, and authentic care, I support you in exploring your inner world, recognizing your strengths, and developing a coherent and empowered personal narrative. Rather than directing your journey, I walk alongside you, honoring your autonomy as you deepen self-awareness, uncover your truth, and move toward greater clarity, alignment, and wholeness.

Trauma-Informed Care

Building upon this person-centered foundation, my work is guided by a trauma-informed lens. I recognize the profound impact that stress, adversity, and traumatic experiences can have on the mind, body, and nervous system. Our work unfolds in structured yet flexible phases — prioritizing emotional safety and stabilization, supporting the processing of meaningful life events at your pace, and integrating those experiences in ways that foster empowerment, resilience, and restoration. My goal is to help you create meaning even from painful chapters of your story while honoring your strength, protecting your autonomy, and cultivating internal safety and congruence along the way.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is an important tool I integrate to support meaningful and lasting change. It helps us explore and challenge unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and patterns that shape how you see yourself, others, and the world. By gently restructuring limiting beliefs, we create space for healthier thought patterns, stronger emotional regulation, and a more compassionate and empowered self-image. This collaborative work supports you in recognizing automatic thoughts, reframing negative patterns, and showing up in your life with greater clarity, confidence, and intentional choice.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

As we move through different phases of counseling, DBT supports you in building distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and self-soothing skills — while accessing your Wise Mind, the balance between emotion and logic. DBT offers practical tools that help you step back from overwhelming emotions. Rather than feeling consumed by the story, you learn to become the mindful observer, responding instead of reacting. This creates space for grounded presence, resilience, and self-compassion.

Existential Therapy

My work is also influenced by existential therapy, which supports you in discovering meaning, purpose, and authenticity in your life.

This process invites you to explore who you are beyond circumstances, roles, and expectations. Through reflection on both joyful and painful experiences, you deepen self-understanding and move forward with clarity, alignment, and a sense of purpose that feels true to who you are.
